The purpose of the visit was to assess the existing situation in the area to determine the necessary interventions and approaches to resolve existing issues.
Brgy Liangan Uno and Brgy Basak of Madalum, LDS are identified as communities which are vulnerable to the threat of the Dawlah-Islamiyah Maute Group (DI-MG). They are also identified as Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) which made them priority areas for clearing and development of the Philippine Army, more particularly the 55th Infantry Battalion. CSP operators from the Alpha Company of the said battalion which is headed by 1LT RODWIN M BILOZA, are currently assisting community leaders to attain better governance and they are also organizing the farmers and linking them to appropriate agencies so that they could fully benefit from the agriculture-based programs of the government.

For his part, COL ANQUILLANO persuaded everyone to cooperate with the CSP teams so that necessary government programs can be implemented in the soonest possible time. He further stated the military is there to help them not only to resolve the problem of terrorist threats in the area but also assist them to develop their community.
COL ANQUILLANO further stressed that the youth should be protected from terrorist recruitment and this can be addressed by education and since education is free these days there should be no excuse for illiteracy in their communities.
“Ultimately it is the community, its leaders and constituents, who are the answers to their problems, with the right direction and motivation, anything can be achieved, including lasting peace and sustainable development.” Anquillano disclosed.
The visiting party distributed 20 sacks of fertilizers as an initial support to both communities since agriculture is their primary means of income. ( 55th Infantry Battalion /Now Pinay)
