OCTOBER 16, MARAWI CITY — Eighteen cooperatives within agricultural areas and Malimono-Dulay Agrarian Reform Community in Marawi City received various Common Service Facilities, farm equipment, garden tools and inputs from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) in today’s 14th Kawiyagan held at City Hall Complex Marawi City.
MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob spearheaded the distribution of assistance, together with the MAFAR Deputy Minister for Policy, Planning, Evaluation and Monitoring Ammal D. Solaiman, and other heads of partner stakeholders towards sustaining livelihoods for the Marawi people.
One hundred sixty three ARBs from three cooperatives received 1 unit of 4WD tractor 90HP with farm implements, 1 unit corn sheller, 1 unit rice thresher and 2 units hand tractors. Moreover, fifteen farmer-cooperatives also received eight units of 4WD tractor 35HP, three hand tractor cultivators, two units cassava grater with presser, 1 unit cassava granulator, 1 unit cassava chopper and garden tools with vegetable seeds.
Further, Minister Yacob encourages the farmers to use the awarded equipment that can help them maximize production and land utilization.
Kawiyagan (Livelihood) is a monthly activity of the Local Government of Marawi, Task Force Bangon Marawi and all partner agencies to showcase synergy of organizations in distributing and providing livelihood assistance to the constituents of the city.
